Before and After of our Breakfast Nook

August 9, 2016 Leave a Comment

Moving right along from this post about our kitchen reveal, I wanted to share one of my most favorite rooms in our house, the breakfast nook.  When we moved in, this room was super proud of all of its 1970’s glory! The yellowed wallpaper and dark paneling, very tired carpet, outdated light fixture and frilly curtains all needed to be knocked down a few notches.  dated kitchen

We slowing made changes to the layout.  First, we took out the half knee-wall and removed the desk/pantry area in the kitchen.  Doing so allowed us to open up the walkway into the room which helped with flow so much!  Then over 2 more years, we changed the flooring, added faux shiplap, removed popcorn ceiling etc etc…  Here’s the after!

Updated breakfast nook that would be the perfect spot for your morning coffee!

Can you even believe it’s the same room?!  I love using this space to have my morning coffee and a few moments of quiet before the day starts.  It’s one of my favorite rooms in the house because it faces the south so there’s tons of sunlight!  Thanks for stopping by:) xo
