Building Our Forever Home! Phase One

September 14, 2017 4 Comments

Over the past year since selling our last house, we’ve built our forever home!  I could kick myself for not blogging about it in real time, but building a house, working full time and keeping up with two kids proved to be too much!  I do have lots of photos of the process though!  I will post the photos in chronological order as best I can.  I have found that only people who are thinking about building or in the process of building care about home construction!  With good reason too as it is tedious and exhausting.  However, along with being stressful, I found the process somewhat fun….in hindsight that is.  So, if you’re interested in all of the ugly it takes in order to have pretty, I hope you enjoy!

See, lots of ugly.  That’s all for now.  Next up will be framing, trusses and roof!  Hope you’ll tune in for more.  xo

Hi: I simply fell head over heels in love with your plan.. I am wonder if I can obtain a rough sketch of your plan. We have been in the planning phase of a 2900 sq ft ranch and I notice how open your plan is and layout. We have 2 girls in college Notre Dame and St Mary’s. Trying to rethink our build..
will be on 6.5 acres and looks similar to your plan.

Hi Beatrice, I will be happy to show a photo of our floor plan. I have had several emails from women wanting to know the plan! It’s a VERY simple, hand drawn plan. Hopefully you’ll be able to make heads or tails of it. Check back soon because I’ll add it in a post coming up. xo
